Authors Wanted UPDATED

Here is a great website where kids can pretend to be an author. Just think if you start soon you could have a wonderful, sentimental, Father's Day gift.

I am sad to say that this site only lets authorized teachers using Pearson Education products to create an account. If you want one ask your teacher if they use Pearson Education materials and if they would be willing to create an account for your student.

There are 3 styles of books memory books, story sparks, and start from scratch. They give age recommendations for each type but I believe kids cando anything they put their minds too with a little help.
My kids and I made a memory book for their Grandpa for Father's Day. I really like that www.tikatok.com protects your kids by reminding them not to put their names in the book. To make a hardcover book it's 18.66, a softcover 15.62, and a digital book is only 2.99. There is also the option to share your book using social networks and blogs for a dollar. You can purchase as many as you would like. If you aren't planning on purchasing the books this is still a fun site just to play on and to create.

To protect your child the author isautomatically put as your user name and can't be changed until you purchase the book.

The pages on the memory book come pre-designed with basic phrases that you get to add to and change if you chose. You can also upload your own personal pictures and add those as you would like.

You can also change just about anything. The book we did had 11 pages. We decided to add our pictures later so we could take some that go along with our story. I was also thinking about having my kids draw a picture of their Grandpa then scanning it into the computer so that can also be added to their book. This would be a way for kids to use their own illustrations for their story instead of just copying and pasting the cute images they have provided.

As my kids and I played with this site I was very pleased with how they try to keep your identity safe. Every time I clicked on something so share or buy the book they always asked me to verify my information.

I found this site very user friendly. I'm excited for my kids to learn how to use it so they can begin to make their own books. I also really like how many ways you can share your books with others. This would be a great place for kids of all ages to create something of their own to share.
