ABC Mouse - for members

We recently got to review the portion of ABC Mouse that you can subscribe to. WOW. It was neat. I don't think my kids have played any of their other on-line games since. My son says "I think it's good and I want to play it."

I really like how it walks you through everything when you first sign up. You can chose to watch a video that shows you how to do everything or you can just figure it out on your own. The program is so user friendly.

We began by creating an avatar and deciding what level the kids needed to be on. We put my son on the Kindergarten Level and my daughter on the preschool level. The program gives you an age guide to help you determine which level is most likely the best. Each section has more activities than we know what to do with.
Here's our avatar's.

We then began to explore. In the classroom the teacher gives your student lessons. The lessons begin with coloring pages of the letter or number that they are working on. This introduces the letters and numbers to your child so they know watt it looks like and are able to complete the other activities. It then moves on to puzzles, which you can decide how big and how many pieces the puzzles have, books which are read to your child, and other activities all related to the letters or numbers they are working on and ends with a game that tests what they have learned. The games we have seen have all been some sort of matching game.

I really like that every game they do in the lessons they can access through another source as well. Everything is categorized into like 5 different categories so you don't have to just do the lessons to get the information. There are also different section like the states, calendar time, Science and more than I have space to talk about.

As your child completes activities they receive tickets which they then can use at the store. They can buy new clothes for their avatar, furniture and toys for their room, or other fish for the classroom fish tank.

I also really like that they can chose to go to the farm or the zoo to learn about the animals that live there. It's also nice because everything is read to your children so you don't have to sit by them and explain everything to them. It's done for them.

I really like this site. It is so much fun and very educational. The creators have spent a lot of time on this and have tried to think of everything. To access this portion of the site there are 3 options you can pay by 7.95 a month, $79 a year, or $99 for 2 full years. Just think it's cheeper than sending your child to preschool and it teaches them the same things. If you do chose this for preschool just make sure you set up play groups so they do get that social interaction as well.
